Dental Implants
It can be very difficult to accept the fact that a tooth is lost in an accident or needs to be removed due to severe decay or infection. Fortunately, implants offer a permanent solution for replacing a missing tooth or teeth. Implants are made of titanium and look similar to a conventional screw. A surgeon places the implant below the gums and monitors it over several weeks for integration of the implant with the bone in the jaws. Once integration and fusion with the jaws is complete, the implant is uncovered and a dental crown is placed over it. Implants are a very natural and esthetic way to replace one or several teeth and can be used to provide more stability under dentures or partials.
